Wilson Reading System®

As a Wilson® Accredited Training Partner, Churchill delivers Wilson® professional learning for students who have been unable to learn to read and spell through other teaching strategies.

A Different Approach to Reading

Based on Orton-Gillingham principles for teaching reading and spelling, Wilson Reading System® (WRS) identifies each individual student’s needs before implementing the right diagnostic teaching strategy via the WRS lesson plan.

In one-on-one settings, students use research-based materials and multisensory strategies to gain a comprehensive understanding of reading, writing, spelling, oral reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Continuous assessment throughout the program allows teachers to meet the unique needs and monitor the progress of each individual student.

Wilson® Works

WRS has been successfully implemented in public school districts, private schools, private clinics, and adult education settings across the country. A study published in the International Journal on Disability and Human Development found that students with disabilities who received instruction in WRS had “significant growth in their reading over time.”

FUNDATIONS®

Based on the Wilson Reading System® principles, Wilson Fundations® provides research-based materials and strategies as a prevention and early intervention reading, spelling and handwriting program for kindergarten to third grade students.

Fundations makes learning to read fun while laying the groundwork for life-long literacy!
